Yeah and I can pirate a movie faster than I can get a prostate exam, what point is this trying to make?

I 10000% believe women should have unfettered access to reproductive healthcare.

But is this post implying that it should be available in less than 7 minutes? Like, you could order a pizza and then go for a counseling session and be done with it before your pizza arrives?

meme about Aqua Teen Hunger Force lasting longer than the Confederacy gets posted

Lemmings: “lmao, comparing these two completely unrelated events really highlights how pathetic the Confederacy was! The point is so obvious that no further context could possib|y be needed!”

meme about access to reproductive care for women taking longer to get than it takes to complete a major heist gets posted

also Lemmings: “These two events are completely unrelated, so it’s impossib|e to even grasp what is being said here!”

How is this related at all?

I’m not sure what point they think they’re making. So, museum security for historical artifacts is underfunded more than female reproductive medical services?

If you break the law, you might get reproductive care as fast as a jewel thief can steal from a low security museum?

The point is organizing a >100 million dollar jewel heist is typically considered to be a grandiose effort seen only in movies, yet the nonchalant and timely manner in which it was executed was more similar to walking into a pharmacy for basic supplies.

…which is how easy access to reproductive care should be, yet in many places women need to go to far more extreme lengths

But we don’t know what the organization was like. For most women, that’s the difficult step - the end result usually is literally just walking into a pharmacy, but with cool music playing over slowmo shots of you in the building. The months of effort to get to that point are the issue.

It’s an imperfect metaphor as presented, but a shockingly perfect one with only a slight reframing.

Also faster than going to a grocery store, cooking a meal, going through a drive through, doing #2 (for some)

I agree that what Republicans are doing is horrific, but this comparison makes no sense. Even if there was no problem with reproductive care it would never be as fast as those robberies.
