I don’t know. Isn’t the average speed of a bullet (340 m/s) under the sound barrier (343 m/s)? If that’s the case, wouldn’t it only matter how far the gun is away from you?
There are a LOT of different kinds of ammunition out there. I suppose if they get to choose what kind, they could opt for subsonic ammo (the kind that people usually use with suppressors). Otherwise, if it’s randomly selected or something, then there’s a pretty good chance that it’ll break the sound barrier.
Hair on your feet is better because then you’ll get less hearing damage.
What collection are these animations from? I have seen this around, but have never seen a name said to them.

The further the muzzle is from my ears, the lower the noise level I’ll experience. The projectile speed doesn’t matter.
