Anecdotal evidence in a place full of bad actors is enough to justify genocide, got it. Then I’ll say I’m pro-Palestine and I voted Harris/Walz. That counts as much as analysis from actual Democratic Party pundits, right?
Ignore the huge Latino demographic shifts to Trump, the younger demographic shifts to Trump, or how both white males and white females majority voted for Trump, and how Israel/Palestine didn’t even make top 5 issues voters cared about. The 89 million eligible voters that sat out was because they care about Gaza, and not something that happens every election anyway.
People on Lemmy complain about bots on social media and then get duped by the same tactics.
a 6% drop. And those that did turn out to vote chose Harris but only by 4%. Which indicates you lefty kids stayed home this time. Which is the thesis in question.
and how Israel/Palestine didn’t even make top 5 issues voters cared about.
Was that from the exit polling? Because that would follow.
The new thread that I love is “Gaza voters didn’t matter, so you’re getting mad over nothing” but also, the same people saying “If the Dems had just not supported genocide, we would have won!”
And none of them mattered. You’re barking after 1% of potential voters, and ignoring all the rest. That 1% might not have even been in key areas, making their dissent 100% pointless.
We’re still blaming the people supporting Gaza when that’s been debunked, huh. Voter turnout this election was the 2nd highest it has been in the history of American elections, and the reason it decreased was because of Covid mail-in ballot initiatives from 2020 not carrying over into 2024.
You’re literally falling for the wedge issues on social media the OP was mentioning.
“Debunked?” no. Heck in this very thread people will chime in about how they didnt’ vote for that reason. Or any others.

10% higher than 2020. bigly. Propaganda works.
[Young people’s electoral participation dropped notably in 2024. After historically high youth voter turnout of over 50% in the 2020 presidential contest, our early estimate is that 42% of youth (ages 18-29) voted in 2024.](https://circle.tufts.edu/latest-research/2024-poll-barriers-issues-economy)

Wrong.
