Anywhere that would discriminate over how you voted does so already, politics are so polarized that nobody is exactly hiding it well when they support a specific side. Nobody sane is going to make you submit the form you requested with your vote history unless they aren’t competitive. But what if they do? Maybe they should. I wouldn’t want to work for a Republican business and I wouldn’t want Republicans working for upright businesses.

The only downside I can think of is people trying to purchase votes, but that’s already a felony as of 1940 with many SCOTUS rulings over the century reaffirming it.

I’m sorry but this has already happened and it’s not hypothetical. “Find a better job” has never addressed systemic problems. Nobody wants to work for a shady company, there just aren’t enough upright ones to go around.

lmao I didn’t tell you to find a better job, I asked to be able to confirm how my vote was counted. Your job issues are yours not mine.

When you say “I wouldn’t want to work for a Republican business”, you’re implying that we can simply choose to work for businesses that aren’t Republican-owned. For the average job seeker this restriction is costly.

My job issues would become yours if I had to choose between altruistic voting and a higher paying job!

I already pointed out that this form of discrimination already exists in no short supply, so it wouldn’t change at all.

If you’re that worried about it just make it illegal for others to request your vote history from you for the purpose of employment, enrollment, enlistment, or any form of contract verbal or written aside from the singular exception of personal lives and romantic interests.

Yeah I disregarded that because thinking workplace protections aren’t effective is absolute nonsense. If it were true then businesses and the GOP wouldn’t fight tooth and nail to remove them at every opportunity.

You’re making a new contentious claim to support your initial contentious claim. Since you’re skipping stuff, let’s keep it simple: your idea has already been tried.
